Andrew Hamilton is the 11th independently elected Orange County Auditor-Controller. Elected in 2022, he leads an office of more than 400 professionals responsible for safeguarding public funds and ensuring the County operates with financial accountability and transparency.
A Certified Public Accountant with nearly 35 years of public and private sector experience, Mr. Hamilton has served as various Controller and Accounting Management positions at publicly traded companies, a city finance director, a water district CFO, a member of the Lake Forest City Council, and accounting services for Fortune 500 companies.
Under his leadership, the Auditor-Controller’s Office oversees payroll for more than 18,000 County employees, vendor payments, financial reporting, property tax administration, and independent financial oversight that supports every County Department.
Mr. Hamilton was named as one of OC Register’s 125 Most Influential People in Orange County for 2025.
