The Auditor-Controller maintains a copy of the current annual audit reports for more than 41 Special Districts such as water districts and school districts. The Auditor-Controller has no role in preparing these audits. However, the Auditor-Controller is required to check that all special districts have an annual audit and provide copies of the reports for public review.
