About OC Auditor Controller

The Orange County Auditor-Controller’s Office ensures that the County of Orange operates with financial integrity, accountability, and transparency. With more than 400 dedicated professionals, the office plays a critical role in managing, safeguarding, and reporting on billions of dollars in public funds that support essential County services. Every County service from healthcare and public safety to infrastructure and social services depends on sound financial management. The Auditor-Controller’s Office ensures that public dollars are accounted for, protected, and reported accurately, reinforcing trust between the County and the community it serves. Our Office serves as the County’s central financial steward, providing independent oversight, and essential accounting services that keep County operations running smoothly and responsibly. Our responsibilities span the full financial lifecycle from payroll and accounting to property tax distribution, financial reporting, and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Andrew N. Hamilton

Orange County Auditor-Controller

Andrew N. Hamilton, CPA serves as the 11th independently elected Orange County Auditor-Controller. Mr. Hamilton was independently elected in June 2022. Previously, Mr. Hamilton served as the Finance Director for the City of Yucaipa, on the Lake Forest City Council and as the Chief Financial Officer at Mesa Water District.

Mr. Hamilton graduated from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting and Systems in 1992. He began his career at a Big 4 CPA firm in Irvine in 1992, obtained his CPA in 1995 and attained progressive accounting experience throughout his career at Walt Disney Company, Gambro Healthcare, GTC Telecom, Semitropic Water Storage District, DLC and Mesa Water District.
